Linked Learning is an approach that is transforming education for California students by integrating rigorous academics with career-based learning and real-world workplace experiences. Linked Learning ignites high school students’ passions by creating meaningful learning experiences through career-oriented course Pathways and real-world exposure.
It is our desire to have our learners interact with the community through more Work-Based Learning and involvement with businesses. For Linked Learning and Career Technical Education programs to be successful, we need businesses and organizations to get involved. Whether your company can host a tour, provide mentorship to students in person or online, or give a classroom talk on your industry, Linked Learning needs your expertise. We are also seeking employers (large and small) to partner with us by providing valuable job shadowing opportunities, internships, and joint projects with our learners, including LHS business services. |
What are some different ways I can Get Involved?
Internships Put students to work and help them apply their learning to assist your business. Compensation is not necessary and we take care of worker’s compensation insurance. Educational Visit classrooms to classrooms to assist teacher and students with industry related projects and experiences - including projects you need help with. Advisory You’ve spent years developing your professional and business skills. Now, it’s time to share them with the next generation of workers, entrepreneurs, and citizens. We need your help! Workplace Tours & Job Shadows Connect with your local school and open the doors to your workplace. Let students see firsthand what work looks like in the real world. Guest Speaking Become a guest speaker and share your industry experience with students. Make classroom presentations on industry specific topics and new technologies.
